Wondering how to make some extra cash while staying at home during this corona virus period, here is Peter, a Cameroonian youth who is making this wish a reality.
"After graduating from the Higher Institute of Commerce and Management (HICM - UBa), with a BBA in management and Entrepreneurship, I decided to test the waters of entrepreneurship by becoming an Online Marketer." - says Peter.
PENN Peter CHICK is a Cameroonian citizen who began his educational career in PC-Azire Bamenda, after which he attended secondary and high school at PSS MANKON, obtaining both the ordinary and advanced level certificates in the ARTS department. After completing university, Peter was faced with the challenge of what to do next, as do many other fresh graduates. He decided to pursue a post-graduate certificate but his financials were lagging especially since he had to take care of most of his needs. This made Peter become interested in online marketing as it was the best option he saw which would also give him enough time flexibility to still attend his school program normally. Another motivation for Peter is his believe that jobs are being taken over by computers and the A.I revolution. This particularly reason is the biggest motivation for him wanting financial freedom in life.
To make this dream a reality, Peter later joined an online mall called SARUI MALL INTERNATIONAL which specializes in quantum energy fashion and health products.
For Peter, this is a great part-time job especially if you are a student looking for some extra cash. He also sees this as an opportunity to improve and work on his digital marketing skills. When asked what his advice to other students like him was, he said and I quote
"Many of us are depending on the government because we have graduated, should the Government open all the banks to give you jobs? It's not going to work like that If you're going to predict your future, it demands that you create it. How many of you have developed yourselves digitally? You need to get involved in the digital space. Nobody is interested in your qualification, they are all interested in your skill set. What sub skills have you developed? You must position yourself to take over. If you are not relevant on social media, then i don’t know. The problem is not your country, the problem is us, we must be ready to take advantage and be relevant. You need to think years ahead of time. Hunger is the gift from God to Man, you need to get hungry for success."
With the outbreak of the corona virus, putting a hold to the normal functioning of most schools and universities, Peter sees this as an opportunity to greatly hone his digital skills and grow his marketing base. He is even more motivated to do more sales on the SARUI Mall so as to sustain himself during this period and also so he can save up for the aftermath when things return to normal. Seeing as to how most shops and physical businesses are closed, this is another reason why Peter believes the future are for the ones who move in the digital direction. Below are some screenshots of Peter's frequent money withdrawals from selling on Sarui Mall, right to his MTN Mobile Money account.
