1. Examine the view that the activities of the London Baptist Missionary Society in
Cameroon from i1842 to 1887 were a combination of “the coin, the cross and the crown
agenda”.
2. “The treaties between the Germans and the Douala Chiefs in 1884 transferred
sovereignty to the Germans but sowed seeds of discord with the indigenes”. Discuss.

“The German annexation of Douala in July 1884 was a product of miscalculations on the one
hand and ruse on the other hand”. Discuss.
