Section A:
Write a composition of not more than 350 words on one of the following topics: (15rnks)
1.Is homosexual acceptable?
2. Youth and employment in your Country.
3. You are to take part in an essay competition for employment in one of the telephone companies in
Cameron. The topic is 'The Importance of the Telephone in our daily life’. Write the Essay.
Section B:
Rewrite the following discussion in reported speech (10mks)
Doctor: Tom, what are you sick of?
Patient: I have a pain on my back.
Doctor: What happened to your back? Did you fall?
Patient: No. Doctor, I did not fall.
Doctor: I hope you don't have a problem with your spine. How long have you been feeling this pain?
Patient: It is two weeks now.
Doctor: I will request that an x-ray be done on your back.
Patient: Thank you Docfor.
Doctor: May I direct you to the X-ray department?
Patient: Yes. You may.

1) As a student’s representative, you are not satisfied with the increasing phenomenon of insecurity and
harassments on campus and around students’ residential areas. Write a letter of complaint to the
Vice-Chancellor expressing your fears and citing two instances of such happenings. Your name should be
Wandjas Fairman and your address. Faculty of Arts, University of Bamenda. Your complaint should not be
more than 200 words.
2) Write a newspaper article about a fatal motor accident you witnessed in your neighbourhood Your Name is
Nfam Waketch. Not more than 250 words.
