2. “Colonialism or Christianity did not seek to replace female inferiority with male victimization” they
subtly sought to maintain a gender balanced society. Use varied examples of the changing female
roles in Africa throughout the Colonial Era to substantiate this assertion.
3. What evidences are there to justify the fact that Christianity and colonialism were out to ensure a
comfortable gender balance but had diametrically opposing views on how this could be achieved.
4. How useful or disadvantageous are the following to the women lot in Africa during the post-
independence period.
