Section A:
1. According to Augustine of Hippo, man reaches out to an object greater than himself,
which can bring peace and Happiness.
Philosophically justify and criticize this emphasis on what regards our knowledge of the
truth. 35 marks
2. We cannot, says Augustine, perceive the immutable truth of things unless they are
illuminated as by a sun.
Philosophically interpret this view and point out some probable weaknesses regarding
education. 35 marks.

3. To what extend is medieval philosophy a demonstration of Aristotle’s thoughts?
