SECTION A

1. What is historiography? Evaluate both the remote and the immediate factors for the emergence

of African historiography.

2. “The contributions of K.O Dike were crucial to the rise of African historiography.” Assess the

validity of this assertion.

SECTION B

3. Examine the significance of the following in historiography

a. Causation b. objectivity and subjectivity c. correspondence and coherence theories.

4. Appreciate the contributions of Herodotus to Historiography and show how far the discipline

evolved after him.
