EXERCISE
TRANSPORT is a “business for business”. LEO limited international manufactures and transports
cars. He has customer ELIGAH-Limited in Cameroon, Bamenda. LEO has his factory at out scale of
France some kilometres away from the Port of Marcel. His customer has ordered 150 cars with one of the
cars customized. He has to transport the consignment through land and contracted another company
ADIG-limited which is a multinational company. ADIG LTD contract DEFANG LTD to take charge of
sea transportation. But DEFANG does not have a ship, hires part of a ship for 150 cars but later only 140
were available and he was up large to transport. DEFANG have some of his collaborators that work in
the P and I clause and the classification society. It is stated in the contract that loading and discharging
will be done within ten (10) days. But he succeeds in using eight (8) days. It was noticed that Leo sent the
documents late.
