QUESTION ONE (25 marks)
a) Explain why « payment » is a major issue in International trade (5 marks)
b) Name and explain four suitable methods of payment that you would advice for international
transactions (20 marks)

a) Explain the notion of carrier (transporter) liability (5 marks)
b) Mr. Tim sends one container of goods weighing I atoms from Lagos seaport to Douala seaport. On
arrival, the entire container is damaged. In the context of carrier liability, how much (first in SDR and
in cfa) will Mr., Tim get as compensation from the shipping line? (5 marks)
c) Mr. Johnson sends two pallets of 150kgs each containing 100 laptops each, worth 2,500,000cfa cm
air from New York to Douala. On arrival of the aircraft, the two pallets are declared missen. (10 marks)
