EXERCISE 2: (10MKS)
James a level 300 student in the department of management at FEMS wants to write his
research report on the following topic: motivation and employees’ productivity in MFI: case
study of FEMS credit union-Bamenda. Help James to:
1) Give the main research question [1 line]
2) Give the main objective and two specific objectives. [4 lines]
EXERCISE 3: (20 MKS)
Read the following passage which represents the research question and answer the questions
that follow:
The main research question of the study is: what are the factors that influence the adoption of
mobile money by households in the Bamenda Municipality? The specific research questions
are:
• What is the effect of income level on the adoption of mobile money?
• What is the effect of educational level on the adoption of mobile money?
• What are the challenges faced by users of mobile money?
REQUIRED:
a- Select a suitable title for this study
b- In not more than five lines, state the problematic captured by the identified topic
c- Identify the research objectives that are likely to constitute the problem statement of
this study.
d- Develop two hypotheses for this study
e- What method(s) of gathering data will you use for this study and why?
f- What are the likely problems to be faced this researcher when gathering data (3only)
g- Establish the techniques of data analysis and presentation that could be used to carry
out this study
h- State three relevance of reviewing literature in this study
i- As a researcher, give three ethical issues to consider when collecting data
EXERCISE 4 (15 mks)
a) Under what circumstances will a stratified random sampling design be considered
appropriate? How would you select such a sample? Explain by means of example
b) What is the meaning of APA as a referencing style?
c) Why should we incorporate a list of reference in our research project? (3 only)
d) Give a hypothetical referencing list of one text book and one journal article. NB: the
