CASE STUDY
Pacific Food Company Limbe is a food Distribution company that is looking to
open up new markets and distribute its products throughout Africa. To be
successful it was imperative that the shipping process will require the services
of a Freight Forwarder for the buyer and that they would not have to deal with
uncertainties, shipping or customs related issues. It was also important that
costs were kept to a minimum so that the product would have an attractive
price and that delivery times were controlled.
PFC Limbe had an order to ship a 40ft container of frozen chicken to Bluehouse
Restauration, a food chain company in Bangui. Both agreed to trade under the
incoterms Ex works. Considering the insecurity along the Douala-Bangui
corridor, Bluehouse Restaurant are very much concern with delivery time since
delivery delays might lead to loss of Business.
